DISC Profiling – Better Communication & Stronger Teams
A practical introduction to DISC for developing self-awareness, understanding communication differences and working more effectively with others.
People differ in how they communicate, approach tasks, make decisions and respond to pressure. These differences can strengthen a team, but they can also contribute to misunderstandings when people expect others to communicate or work in the same way they do.
This interactive 8-hour workshop uses the DISC behavioural framework to help participants better understand their own preferences and recognize differences in how other people may approach communication and collaboration.
Participants work with their individual DISC profiles and explore practical ways to adapt their communication while remaining authentic to their own style.
The purpose is not to put people into boxes, but to provide a simple shared language for discussing behavioural and communication preferences.
What You’ll Learn
During the workshop, participants will explore how to:
Understand the four main DISC behavioural styles and their characteristics
Interpret their own DISC profile and communication preferences
Recognize personal strengths and potential blind spots
Understand how their behaviour may be perceived by others
Notice behavioural cues that may indicate different communication preferences
Adapt the tone, pace, level of detail and structure of communication
Communicate more effectively across different behavioural styles
Approach feedback and difficult conversations with greater awareness
Recognize how behaviour and communication may change under pressure
Apply DISC principles to everyday teamwork and workplace situations
Understanding Your DISC Profile
Each participant receives an individual DISC profile that serves as a starting point for reflection and discussion during the workshop.
Participants explore their preferred behavioural tendencies, communication patterns, potential strengths and areas that may require greater flexibility depending on the situation.
DISC describes behavioural preferences rather than fixed personality types. People are more complex than any four-style model, and behaviour can change according to context, role and circumstances.
The value of the framework lies in using it as a practical lens for increasing awareness and improving communication rather than as a label for yourself or others.
DISC in Everyday Communication
Participants explore how different communication preferences can influence situations such as:
team meetings,
delegation and instructions,
collaboration across functions,
giving and receiving feedback,
conversations with customers or stakeholders,
disagreements and difficult conversations,
communication under pressure.
The workshop focuses on practical adjustments participants can make to improve clarity and make communication more appropriate to the person and situation.
